It’s already day 10. Ten blogposts in the pocket! Self-five! ✋
Yesterday I added a new page with advertisement options on this site it’s in the main menu. So if you’d like to become a part of Freedom in Two go there and create a win-win situation. I get a little closer to my goal and you get some publicity.
On to the topic of today.
How did I come up with the idea of Freedom in Two. I briefly touched on it before but there’s actually more! Last month I went on the Nomad Cruise and it was such an amazing experience. Will talk about that another time. Right now I want to focus on one of the epiphanies I had there on the cruiseship. ?
I gave a workshop about habits. Which is actually one of my favorite subjects in the personal development world.
The title of the workshop was: Habitualized Success. What it means is “Setting yourself up for success through habits”.
So I introduced myself telling the group that this was not my profession and that personal development is one of my biggest passions but that I actually create iOS apps for a living with my company Rising Step.
The workshop focused on creating new habits and ways how to make sure they actually stick with some insights I had earlier this year. A lot of info I used was based on this book:
Mini Habits: Smaller Habits, Bigger Results by Stephen Guise
I recommend you get this book and devour it!
I also spoke about Tony Robbins, Wim Hof, Tim Ferriss and those kind of inspirators.
Anyway. After the workshop Till (one of the participants) came to me and we spoke about how I could integrate this passion in my business.
He blew my mind.
I told him that I’ve had a lot of ideas already about this and really thought about it well. For example I’m working on an accountability platform where you stimulate each other to follow through on your goals.
His response was “Why don’t you turn it around?” Instead of developing something for the target audience “personal development” you do “personal development” for “developers”.
I let this sink in and I really loved the idea. After I got back home from the cruise I did another exercise from Till. To really figure out what’s most important to me right now.
Where do you wanna be in 12 minutes? (so after the exercise)
Where do you wanna be in 12 months?
Where do you wanna be in 12 years?
I’ve done countless of these kinds of exercises before but this time my focus was different so the outcome was different as well. I’ve stated everything as if it already happened.
In 12 minutes:
I have clarity on what my next step is for the coming years.
In 12 months:
I am financially stable.
In 12 years:
I have been financially free for 10 years.
These questions triggered a lot of internal stuff and I thought back on all my challenges so far. And thought to myself how about I challenge myself to become financially free in two years.
My response (to myself):
After that I did another brainstorm session and Freedom in Two was born!
Lets balance things out again!
