Day 29

I’ve been submerging myself in financial books and as always -> podcasts. But for some reason Gary Vaynerchuk now really resonates with me.

The first time I saw him I really didn’t like him. Later on I heard him on the Tony Robbins podcast and I still didn’t like his style but at least I now knew that he’s really knowledgeable, sharp and his mind works really fast.

I’ve been listening to him every day for the last two weeks whenever I was doing something like the dishes, laundry, grocery shopping, walking the dog, etc.

You have to look a little further then just the surface. He has a big mouth he drops the f-bomb every other minute and he can talk really fast in all kinds of directions.

Jup, that’s Gary 🙂

He was cutting people off mid-sentence  when they asked him a question. At first I thought he was really rude but I misinterpreted his fast mind and not wanting to waste any time for both parties as being rude while he was being respectful of their and his time.

I believe I kind of get him now.

He has this awesome practice of giving away all the knowledge he has for free on the motivational speaker side. So his vlog, talks, podcast, blogposts on the crushing it topic are all free.

He has this Superman/ Clark Kent analogy. He calls this his Superman side and this is for free. The Clark Kent side is his work at VaynerMedia and that is full price. As I write this it seems like he is really full of himself and yes maybe he is but in a good way.

Giving for the sake of giving. I love that. He is actually really patient and he is really a giver. Just listen to a few of his podcast episodes and you’ll see that in every 10 questions he gets to do something with him he says yes at least 8 times. Sometimes with some conditions like.

Question:
“Gary do you want to be on my podcast that I’m starting now?”
Answer:
“Do 15 episodes first and I’ll be on episode 16!”

Right now I really love the guy and happy to admit that I was 100% wrong about him.

He is a little bit different then the other personal development thought leaders and that is probably why I’m drawn to him right now. Just like Tony he cuts through the bs but he also says stuff like “Stop coming to my talks, stop listening to my content and start f-ing doing!”
