Yesterday was just an amazing day. Like I said I had a lot of awesome things that I was gonna do. I had the talk with the financial help guy and he actually reads my blog or at least he prepped before the meeting. Hi Pieter ?
I’m going to go into detail a bit more but first I want to tell you that I recorded the last podcast episode yesterday that I needed before I could launch. Just need to edit the last few episodes, create a logo, host it somewhere, create episode descriptions and submit it to iTunes, Stitcher, Overcast and all the others.
I expect the podcast to be live within 7 days!
Wow… While writing this blogpost I got a call that my landlady was trying to reach me because of the rent that hasn’t been paid yet. Hadn’t checked my formal email address yet.
I sent her a message a week ago that a project fell through and that I’m doing everything in my power to get another project so I can pay off the rent asap.
Apparently she send me an email yesterday that I had not seen yet saying that it’s too late now and they’re taking action… Not even sure what that means… Does it mean legal action or kicking me out of the house action? I asked her to clarify it.
I guess there’s never a dull moment when you’re in debt. I won’t have to worry about that. ?
So this is what I just received.
The owner asked me in an email to see if you already responded but you didn’t and even your cell phone isn’t reachable so he’s taking action…
Me:
Like I said I don’t check this email as often but I check it once a day now. I just didn’t read your message yet.
I don’t get why there’s instant panic now.I have to pay this amount anyway and I will. It’s super annoying for the owner that I haven’t paid yet. I understand that. I’ve had a lot of customers that paid to late or not at all and I know how nerve wrecking that can be.
Just once it would be nice for a change to show a little empathy instead of threatening or directly taking action to make the situation even worse.I clearly stated last week that I’m really busy doing whatever I can to get a project and once I have it I can pay it all off because the numbers are pretty high.I’m just a disappointed that it has to go down like this. Only the transactional aspect is being looked at and the humane side is forgotten.
If I understand you correctly steps have already been taken so I’m screwed anyway. Is there still anything I can do or can I look for a new place to live?
I could have probably handled it a little better and showed more empathy myself but it’s hard staying empathetic when your buttons get pushed.
So that is my day so far… I hope yours is better! I’ll get back to the story I started in tomorrows post.
